I was asked by Airbnb's design team to create an illustration representing my home city of Montreal. The illustration was for the new Co-Travel feature, which allows people to share an upcoming trip with their travel buddies.
They sought me out for my local's perspective, wanting to avoid cliché landmarks and instead focus on simple sights. I proposed a few places, like Parc Mont-Royal, the Canal Lachine and the square Saint-Louis.
I initially tried a few different environmental conditions, including winter and night scenes.
In the end we went with the evening summer scene, to match peak tourist season.
